About

I joined the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at York University as an assistant professor in 2023. I received my PhD in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Professor David Landriault and Professor Bin Li. My research focuses on optimal decision making in insurance and finance, risk management in insurance, shifting toward addressing emerging risks such as cyber risk and AI-related risk, and designing and improving modern insurance products such as variable annuities. My expertise is growing in cutting-edge areas including machine learning in insurance and digital transformation of the insurance industry. I have published in top-tier actuarial science journals including Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, ASTIN Bulletin, Scandinavian Actuarial Journal, and Journal of Risk and Insurance. My research program is currently funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC). I am also an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
